Like other marsupials, wombats have pouches in which they carry their young. However, this pouch is located on the back of the wombat, allowing them to protect their offspring while they dig burrows. Similar to groundhogs and moles, wombats spend most of their time in underground dens, and only venture out to feed. Because they are nocturnal ground dwellers, they are rarely seen by humans.

A small, stubby marsupial endemic to Australia, wombats are an evolutionary mystery! It�s believed that wombats diverged from other Australian marsupials up to 40 million years ago, although some researchers believe the same divergence happened only 20 million years ago. Wombats are nocturnal, so don�t expect too much activity from this pudgy pal during the day! STANDARD SERVICE: All items ship from our Southampton, NY location within 1-2 business days. Orders with Standard service will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, UPS Surepost, or FedEx Home Delivery.

EXPEDITED SERVICE:  Please call us for a quote if you wish to have your items shipped using an expedited shipping service such as UPS Two Day or Next Day..

Items Lost or Damaged in Transit

Please contact us by email or calling in the event your shipment is lost or damaged.  In the event of visible damage, please keep all packaging material.  Stevenson’s will provide tracking numbers for all shipments and is not responsible for items not received that the tracking shows as having been delivered.

They saved my son’s fifth birthday by going above and beyond to help me out after I had unbelievably bad luck finding the Playmobil house that he wanted and is near impossible to find.
