With its spiral shell and tentacles, the nautilus is one of the oldest marine animals still present on Earth. A true living fossil, it has existed for over 400 million years.
Surprisingly, unlike octopuses and squids, the nautilus has an external shell divided into chambers filled with gas and liquid, which allows it to control its buoyancy. It lives primarily in the depths of the Pacific Ocean and sometimes comes up at night to feed on fish, crustaceans, and carrion. Slow-moving and discreet, it protects itself from predators by withdrawing completely into its shell. Its beauty and rarity make it a symbol of marine biodiversity worth preserving.

STANDARD SERVICE: All items ship from our Southampton, NY location within 1-2 business days. Orders with Standard service will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, UPS Surepost, or FedEx Home Delivery.
EXPEDITED SERVICE: Please call us for a quote if you wish to have your items shipped using an expedited shipping service such as UPS Two Day or Next Day..

Items Lost or Damaged in Transit
Please contact us by email or calling in the event your shipment is lost or damaged. In the event of visible damage, please keep all packaging material. Stevenson’s will provide tracking numbers for all shipments and is not responsible for items not received that the tracking shows as having been delivered.
